Carolyn Cassin grew up in Michigan and attended Michigan State University, where she earned a degree in marketing. After graduation, she began her career in the advertising industry, working for several major firms in Detroit. In 1986, she founded her own marketing and advertising agency, which she ran successfully for over 25 years.
